I enjoy making these pictures and so just keep doing them. There is another exhibition coming up in a few weeks so I will put a couple of them in and hope that someone might like them enough to buy one.
This one is called "I'd like to be .....", it started off as just a sea scape but the Beatles song just kept popping into my head.

Mary - The Third Member of the Chicken Supremes.
This is Mary, the third member of the chicken supremes. She is striding out, never wanting to do as she is told. The personalities of the hens have come through in the embroideries but it seems as if they have become more normal looking as I did them. Florence is bright and colourful and a bit strange, but Mary just looks like a chicken. Not sure what I will do next, but might go and look at the City and guilds again!

Second chicken supreme - Diana Doing What She Does.
This is the second of my three hens, Diana. She is the most normal and hard working hen of the three; she just gets on with digging around and laying eggs.
I have started on the last hen, Mary, but as I feared my enthusiasm is a little deminished. However
I have been told about another exhibition in October and am going to put all three hen pictures into it, so I need to keep stitching.

Florence in her finery
I have three hens and have decided to do a portrait of each, although I will probably get bored before number three. They are named after the Supremes, and this one is "Florence in Her Finery" and I have just started Diana. I have also done another doddle on woven squares of plain and patterned fabric. The exhibition at the Art Centre is over and I sold one of my pieces, the framed one of the blue wheels of life; that has certainly boosted my confidence.

A Few More to go on a Wall
My local pub is having an exhibition of art work by the locals and so, having taken the plung and put some of my work into the exhibition at Cranleigh I am going to put some in at the pub as well. Some of these have been put up on my blog before but I have reframed/mounted them and I thinkthat it definately improves them.
The first one is the wall hanging which I did notr my C&G Certificate, I may show that one as well as I really like it, it depends how much wall space there is available.
This is a new one which I did in the same style as the one for Cranleigh.

Daring to put something in an exhibition!
I have decided to take a major, grown up step and put a couple of my pieces in an open art exhibition. The theme of the exhibition is "Regeneration and Renewal" and I hope that my pieces will fit the theme. The first I have called "New Town" (11x14 inches) as it reminds me of urban renewal in the 1960's and the second is called "Dhrama Wheels" (14 x 9 inches)and is based on the buddist wheel of life symbol. I do not particularly like textile work under glass but have had the wheels framed as I think it may make it more saleable, even though it has put the cost up.
